Knowledge and practice of primary care nurses about gender and care for LGBTQIA+ people

Objective: to understand the knowledge and practice of Primary Health Care nurses about gender assistance LGBTQIA+ people. Methods: qualitative study, conducted with nine from Care. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews submitted Thematic Content Analysis. Results: three categories emerged: population; perception National LGBT Comprehensive Policy; demand for services nursing care public. Conclusion: it was evidenced deficient health population. There is a lack preparation professionals who assist these users, which causes barriers access services, due existence national policy integral this Nurses focus on punctual biologist actions. Contributions practice: findings contribute subsidize thinking/doing regarding vulnerable populations, need an equitable, integral, humanized look. It necessary strengthen discussions in training continuing education expand gender, population consolidation actions aimed at group.
